EPS licences for Bats and Dormice

A European Protected Species Licence (EPSL) is recommended for projects where proposed development works will, or are expected, to disturb species protected under the Conservation (Natural Habitat, &c) Regulations 1994. This legislation includes bats and their roost sites.

Lloyd Bore is currently managing a number of EPS licences for bats, including the Luton Hoo Estate, Bedfordshire, where several species of bats were recorded.

The licence terms involved a mitigation strategy for bats, including installation of bat boxes, creation of a bat cave and future monitoring, as part of a long term ecological management plan for the estate.

Lloyd Bore has also undertaken similar work for Dormice.
