The Hangout was a competition entry for RIBA and the Bat Conservation Trust. Lloyd Bore designed a complex of structures specifically for bats and their human admirers and for research and education.
Bats are encouraged to occupy roof structures and tunnels. A special lighting system has been devised to allow night viewing.
Our ecologists frequently design mitigation structures for bats, including, for example, a new bat cave at Luton Hoo, bat friendly loft structures and custom designed bat boxes.
