A 430ha (1065 acre) estate largely designed by Capability Brown, containing buildings of international historic importance, Grade I and II*.

The estate was purchased by Elite Hotels in 1999, in a state of serious disrepair, requiring major refurbishment and enabling works to bring the estate to its current 5* hotel status.

Lloydbore played a key role in its transformation, working closely with specialist conservation architects Clague, and contractors Cardy Construction. Our work included the preparation of a full Environmental Statement for an EIA, consultation with English Heritage and other key stakeholders, ecological survey and mitigation work (including construction of a new bat cave) and production of a suite of detailed landscape designs and conservation plans.

The project is ongoing, and we are proud to have been awarded the Landscape Institute Award 2011/2012 for our landscape restoration and management work on the project.
