SENIOR ECOLOGIST (TECHNICAL)
Laragh leads ecological survey programmes for a range of species and species groups. She produces protected species survey reports, Preliminary Ecological Appraisals and Ecological Impact Assessments, designs and works on protected species mitigation schemes and specialises in bat and bird survey. She has designed and lead the implementation of bat mitigation strategies, including under licence from Natural England and is registered to use the Natural England Level 1 bat class survey licence.
Laragh leads on the development of innovative bat survey methods, including the integration of infrared (IR) camera technology to improve the accuracy and reliability of our surveys. She has lead the development of internal standards for bat surveys, has developed our bird mapping approach and is a natural botanist. Laragh plays an important role in teaching and mentoring other staff.
Laragh has degrees in Wildlife Conservation and Wildlife Management and Conservation and has worked on a range of conservation initiatives, including international project experience in the Seychelles, Honduras and Malta. She has previously been an Education Officer, a Forest Structure Surveyor and a Conservation Assistant.
